Why have Internal Audit Unit

The prime function of Internal Audit is to provide the Governing Body (Council), the Chief Executive Officer (Vice Chancellor) and other senior management of the University with an objective assessment of the adequacy and effectiveness of Management's internal control systems.

 

The University is a prominent, diverse and complex organization and also receive subvention from Government. Being recipient of public funds, the Institution has a responsibility to make the best out of the funds to achieve the corporate objective.  Managers do this by setting up a system of internal controls, and Internal Audit's prime function is to assess these controls.
